This book was provided as an advanced reader copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The second Emily Wilde novel was just as enchanting as the first, following Emily, Wendell, and a cast of new characters (as well as some exciting returns) as they attempt to research a gateway back to Wendell’s realm and save him from a slow-acting poison.

I was worried at first that the magic of the first novel would be self-contained but this sequel works really well as a continuing storyline and I look forward to news of the third book.
