Letters to the Church by Francis Chan

Wonderfully challenging book! Cham says things straight and plain, while cautioning again just marching into the pastor’s office and forcing this book down his throat. I appreciate the good questions that this book has stirred up and a tweaking of the lens in which church should be looked at.

Very well written! I had a preconceived idea about Peterson going into this book, but gained a new appreciation for his life, struggles, and heart for God. I feel like I had misunderstood him from my limited knowledge before I read this book. I now want to go read some of his books.
Walking with God: Talk to Him. Hear from Him. Really. by John Eldredge

So appreciate this book! John shares openly his walking with God over a portion of time and describes what to do and what not to do. I appreciate his awareness of the Lord and honesty when he neglected being aware of God in his decisions. I feel challenged to invite God more regularly into small moments throughout the day, but it takes awareness and not just a “God has given me what I need to make this decision without Him” attitude. And how quickly our thoughts can turn from Him!
