I know a lot of people love this book and I wanted to love it too. It was just okay for me. If the main conflict of a romance is just, I didn't tell the person my feelings, I'm generally just bored. And I feel like the book could have been 100 pages shorter. It was a slog there in the middle for me.

After months of trying to get myself to just finish this book, I'm finally deciding to DNF.

I went into this thinking there'd be high level discussion of queerness and how it intersects with the spirituality of Buddhism. It has small moments of that. What it mostly is, is a preachy memoir that links all the authors stories with Buddhist teachings.

I realized I should just dnf when I noticed all the things that resonated with me were paraphrases of people of color's work.
