Was struggling to motivate myself to keep reading this after getting about 1/3 through, convinced myself to pick it up again and opened to the most juvenile of paragraphs. Put it back down and picked up something worth giving my time to.

I read this in 5 days, could not put it down the whole time.
Took a bit to get my head around all the characters and lands but once I did I was hooked.
I am having withdrawals for Roots of Chaos series, praying for a third asap!
I was fully immersed in this world.
The land building, character arcs, tension, relationship dynamics, action and spice all done perfectly. Thorough but not overdone.

Plot was not bad. Story had some interesting elements. Good representation.
But the storytelling was a tad juvenile and repetitive.
How many times can one book use the word “obsidian”? There are other ways to describe black.
And the spicy scenes were terrible, I was cringing and rolling my eyes through each one.
