There is a point in this book where we read the review for the (also) titled Middletide written by our MC. It's an accurate review of the physical book I wasted my time on. Another BOTM miss for me.

I was on the horror forum looking for something to read in a thread by someone saying they wanted to actually be scared. This book was listed multiple times. Tbf, it's not actually listed as horror. And, it's not. It's just one scene of depressing shit after another. Now, is it otherwise a good story and told well? Yes. So it was easy to finish because you do want to know what happened.
