Not awful, but I agree with the other reviewer who said that Ms Hambly put too much in this book. Very dense, over plotted, it got bogged down

adventurous informative slow-paced

As someone without any grasp of the maths involved at all, I enjoyed this book as an historical overview. To even attempt to write a  'popsci' book on this subject was ambitious, and I think McGrayne came as close as could be expected to pulling it off - even if the accusations of shallowness and oversimplification mentioned by other readers seem valid even to a layperson like me.

Easily the best of the series for me - well-rounded characters and the perfect mix of mystery and romance.
informative reflective

Balanced, insightful, measured and very informative, this book delivered. A well laid out and well-argued overview of internet communication

Flat, stilted, and  lifeless writing.

When you want to see the 'lead sleuth' murdered, probably a good idea to drop the book

I did not enjoy this addition to the series. Izzy may have had ADHD, or she may have been what she seemed, a selfish petulant spoilt woman.
