Not my favorite of Tyler’s. The mother in the story isn’t that old, but she’s written as if she’s much much older. The writing is great, but the internal workings of the characters are all a bit opaque, and I’m not sure what the potential romantic interests see in her. She’s not a deeply unlikable character, just not who I’d like to be around.
