Just as good as the first book. Continued character development in the right ways. I'm hoping a third book makes its way to readers eventually, as I would love to see a proper end to Darius' story. Highly recommend both books in the series.

I loved this book from start to finish - binge read it overnight. Great characters and fantastic descriptions of the places the story takes place in. Recommend.

I'm not a fan of books where the story is of non-stop bad things occurring. It's like, damn can these folks catch a break for a second. I understand that it's set during an end of the world situation but damn. lol. The characters themselves were so insufferable at times, I just wanted to reach in and slap them. And then a moment towards the end left a sour taste in my mouth, like really, that had to happen??!! Don't get me started on relying on kids to be the saviors. But the story was creative and I did enjoy what I was reading for the most part.

I loved this book from start to finish. The pacing was great, characters were well thought out, and I'm happy where the story ended. Definitely recommend. 

The Island by Adrian McKinty

Absolutely devoured this book. First title I've read from Adrian and I've just now got "The Chain" immediately after I was finished with this book. Super tense, action at the right times. Read like a movie. Absolutely recommend.

The Hatching by Ezekiel Boone

I really enjoyed the book, the plot, the characters. It all worked well. I loved that each chapter took place in it's own part of the world, giving different perspectives to the situation. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because of the over use of romantic feelings between the characters. I felt like it wasn't necessary at some points. Recommend! And to find out it is book one in a trilogy and that I get to continue the story makes me so happy. 

The Road by Cormac McCarthy

Such an incredibly written story. It was so bleak and heartbreaking but the writing made everything come to life. It was detailed so well. I knew what ending was coming but it still stung.
