first of all, I love the writing this was really easy to read and the plot was so amazing, I think this is one of the few fantasy books in which I've been more invested in the plot than the romance or the side characters.
I loved Laia and Elias, it took me some time to care about them, but god they're amazing, I can't wait to read the rest of the series to see their development and the development of their relationship.
lastly, I know Helene is supposed to have a redemption arc and I started to understand her in the last chapter, but if you actually liked her in this book I'm concerned... like why would you like a character that is a colonizer and k1lls POC for fun????

this was actually really good if we talk about the plot, there's a lot of mistery and Shantel writing is really good like you can't put it down a minute kind of good.
I adored all the side characters because I swear I want to read about all of them, so I guess this book was a great opening for this new world because now im really intrigued and I know im gonna end up reading everything related to this.
now, what I don't like its the relationship, I don't find them bad, but they're boring af after a while, this is second chance romance, but there's no growing of both characters so I was bored every time they were together

I can't even count the number of times I cried with this book, the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that in the last chapters everything happens so fast, they get together sooo fast, which was cute but I wanted a little bit more of angst especially after the time jumps this book has.
