These characters are so much fun to follow, and as we're approaching the end of the series, it's really satisfying for their character arcs to begin clicking in to place and being able to look back at how far they've all come. Each of their plots is interesting on their own, but I'm especially loving how some of their plots are starting to weave back together in preparation for the finale!

This short story is kinda odd, but I can definitely recommend it to anyone super interested in Brandon Sanderson's work. It's super cool that he publishes these "Sanderson Curiosities," as he calls them, letting fans and early writers get a peak behind the curtain from before he found his success.

As someone born and raised in a place that... lacked a lot of diversity, shall we say... it was great to read a book that was so confidently steeped in its culture. I enjoyed the two main characters and the emotional impact of their journey.

I read this for a Magical Realism class I took last semester and definitely benefitted by studying this book in more of an academic/group setting. It's likely not something I would have picked up on my own, but once I did pick it up, I enjoyed the thematic commentary throughout.

I really need to start prioritizing reading some Janci Patterson books, because so far I have absolutely loved everything that I've read that she's coauthored with Brandon Sanderson. This was a funny, adorable conclusion to the series and I'm glad to have finally read it.

This is a must-read for all cosmere fans. It reveals very exciting Cosmere lore while engaging us with a fast-paced story featuring some funky, classically Sanderson worldbuilding.

This was a great book to study in class, and overall I would say that I am more of a fan of magical realism than not, but this isn't a book that I'd recommend to most people who read for fun. It's deeply influential and all but the founder of an entirely new mode of storytelling, but I would suggest most people read other magical realist texts that took even heavy inspiration from OHYoS instead of reading OHYoS itself. If you find that you love other magical realism books, then you should go ahead and read this one.

It was hard to put this book down! After reading this book for class, I am definitely interesting in checking out more of Mitchell's books.

I think my main problem with this one may have just been that my friends and the internet hyped it up way too much. It's an interesting romance, and I love the way they play with speculative elements, and the ending is surprising yet interesting. But I wasn't able to get myself totally immersed and buy into the characters, which lack of complete investment ended up hurting my enjoyment of the story.
