Loved this! It is basically a biography of a book. It follows the real-life events that inspired The Great Gatsby, including a relatively unknown actual murder/suicide and the personal life of author F. Scott Fitzgerald. Totally fascinating, understanding how the plot for one of the "Great American Novels" came into being.

If you are looking for the ultimate primer on how to create compelling content (especially in a marketing world) then this book is the absolute go-to. Part mindset and understanding, part theory and grammar, part messaging and "Why", Ann breaks down her decades of experience in writing and editing to give readers everything they ever wanted to know but were afraid to ask.
Quiet Power Strategy by Tara Gentile

You definitely need to sit down and read this book with a pen and journal. It isn't the usual business advice book that has a few parts to highlight and learn from, buried in a lot of case studies and self-aggrandizing. It is a workbook that will help you create a strategy (as Gentile calls it, your Quiet Power Strategy) for systematically building your business success, based on your core strengths. Rather than spending all your time reading what everyone else is doing, check this out and start doing some things yourself.
So You've Been Publicly Shamed by Jon Ronson

Not really about you

An interesting compilation of stories about people who have experienced public shaming, most via online and social media. While Ronson DOES offer commentary and insight on each vignette, there is not really any advice on what to do when you've been publicly shamed. Which seems to contribute to a rather weak ending; there are no conclusions to be drawn. I didn't even realize the book was finished till I turned the last page and saw "Bibliography". The stories are interesting enough to read through, so going in knowing you will be reading a collection of short stories is the best expectation.
