AHHHH this one was messy.

I spent the first half of the book hating it. I didn’t enjoy the characters, I get quite fed up of every fantasy fmc being a tomboy who’s allergic to dresses and is oh so quirky and not like other girls, and Tamlin was a bit of a bore. Lucian however kept me going throughout most of the book and he was the only character (especially through the first half) that I had any sort of connection to.

The plot felt messy, and obviously things are then explained later and it all comes together but. It was difficult to read. Accompanying my reading by watching Cari Can Read’s plot summary on YouTube bit by bit did help though.

The second half!!!! Rhysand was cool and I enjoyed him and Feyre’s conversations, Lucian however remained my favourite of the main cast. I assume (vague spoilers) Feyre ends up with Rysand based on how TikTok talks about him and also because he ‘claimed’ her and whatnot. Which is kind of funny with how insanely devoted she was to Tamlin in this story.

Once she was at the mountain place I couldn’t put the book down, and I enjoyed it. That section was easily four stars, but because it took a painful amount of time to get there I have to compromise and give the story as a whole a mere three stars. It may deserve only two.

Kind of mid? But excited for the next one :)
