That was so beautiful and heartbreaking and all the emotions combined oh my gosh. Gayle Forman is definitely one of my favourite authors now.

Unfortunately, I'm calling this one a DNF just under 100 pages.

This was my first Nic Stone book and an ARC at that, which I was very excited to get into, but my biggest and almost sole issue is that there's no plot pushing the story forward. Others who like LGBTQ+ stories regardless of what the plot or conflict is will probably still enjoy this one and may even find a strong connection to the characters, but alas I wasn't one of them. I hope between now and publication, Stone speeds up the story and adds more conflict around the love triangle so readers can be gripping the book wondering how the dynamic will work out.

Thank you to Penguin Teen for sending me an ARC to review

**Edit** I read a review of this book that mentioned at one point the MC breaks up her LI's long distant relationship to be with him and I am SO GLAD I DNFed this book because that is not something as a person in a long distance relationship I want to see. Ugh. Cheating should never be romanticized in any shape or form.
DNF.
Unfortunately, this book was not for me. The story wasnt as intriguing as I thought once I got into it and I didnt care for any of the characters.

I'm reading a lot of PB books because of my job and this one is one of my favourites!

Adorable and I'm sooooo ready for autumn now!!!

Holy crap. This book everyone, THIS BOOK.
I know I took some time to finish this, but that has nothing to do with the gorgeousness of this novel I was blessed to read. This is one of the best stories I've ever read and many times I forgot I wasn't reading the finished, published version!
Ana and Ramson are some of my all time favourite characters to date, with their cunning minds, witty dialogue, amazing slow burn, and well thought out arcs.
The story itself is phenomenal, the twists catching me off guard and more than once it broke my heart!! You can expect certain tropes we all love in this YA fantasy, but don't expect to know this story before you've started reading! Amelie is raising the bar with this story (and her debut at that!!) and I cannot wait to see others fall head over heels in love with it like me ♡♡

Gorgeous just as I predicted it would be. Akemi paints these soulful pictures of grief and the different ways we can heal with lots of beautiful imagery involved! I loved how it was set in Hawaii and I always adore how she adds a grandparent figure as a friend and mentor. Kai was adorable, though that last bit broke my heart in a way Lea's death throughout the story didn't!
The only thing I can critique about this book is it hasn't pushed it's way into my top favourite books like Starfish did and (spoiler ahead)
Spoiler I wish Akemi had left in the car accident the person calling out Rumi's name to Lea and not her mom. I thought it took the emotional pull out of it when that was revealed.

Overall, this is definitely a book to pick up! Rumi's path to healing is so well done and authentic and all the Hawaiian aspects was amazing!

I loved Starfish so much so I cannot contain my excitement for this book!!!!

I should really just make this official that I stopped reading and won't finish anytime soon. Tella's voice wasn't for me and though I mildly enjoyed CARAVAL, nothing is grabbing me for LEGENDARY.
