Always very interesting to read something written so long ago. Interesting to see ancient grapplings with moral conundrums. Some very beautiful passages but it didn't grip me as much as Sophocles.

Fun nostalgic read to finish the year - I love these characters, the plot is still gripping on the 1000x re-read.

The atmosphere of this book is just brilliant. Tragic but in a detached feeling way - there's a surreal summer haze over all of it.

Perfect cosy listen while I was ill. Nostalgic and Christmassy.

I enjoyed this concept but it got a bit dark for me towards the end (not sure what I was expecting...). I also thought Luke and Juliet had a bit of a strange dynamic - in general there seemed to be a lot of relationships with weird power/age dynamics.

Very enjoyable read! Quite information heavy so took me a while, but EP has a lovely style which complements the poetry well, and I'm always a sucker for anything OE.

Have been reading these before bed and really enjoyed a lot of them. A good mix of poems! Favourites included "to autumn" and "diary of a church mouse".

I enjoyed this a lot! 19c style natural history+ fantasy is a great combo. I love the narrator's voice as well.

So gripping - I really raced through this. I found the character dynamics and narrative very compelling. Oliver and James were a fascinating pairing (although I wasn't convinced that Oliver is as "nice" as everyone says). I would have enjoyed more detail about the investigation and Filippa's role in all of it. But overall, really enjoyed it.
