Glad I finished it. A solid 4 stars. If I read it when it was written it would probably be my favorite book. But alas, it’s not. Will I revisit it again in the future? I’m sure. Enjoyable, but definitely a drawn out slow burn.

I wish I never saw the movie 20+ years ago. Some spoiler elements came back from memory and took the fun out of it, but overall - I really enjoyed the book. Looking forward to reading the follow up.

Atmospheric, creepy, and a dark delight of a book with old school fright. I always love to see a furry companion in a book. Really enjoyed this one!

Audiobook with Christopher Lee! I am a fan of high strangeness. What a fun ride. Written in 1933, I loved the creepy atmosphere, esoteric discussions, the mystery, the preparation, the battle, astral projection, and 4th dimension. My first Wheatley and not my last.

This was a lot of fun - definitely hits harder for creators.

First off, not a HUGE fan, but I enjoy some tracks and followed her story through the media over the years. This book surprised me in so many ways. I was expecting bubble gum, candy coated memories - but I soon became engulfed in darkness, pain, scandal, rage, trauma, and later left with hope, healing, and feeling empowered. No shit. One of the best books of the year! Fan or no fan something in this book will connect with you. I’m not a mother, but I felt a feral protective community vibe for her custody battles. God Bless Britney Spears.

Southern, gothic, spook, with a little sass and some family magic. A nice combo and recommended as entry level to the horror genre. Completely enjoyable.

This was a pure delight. I had not idea it was written in the early 1900's. Lovely, atmospheric, eerie, gothic - perfect for this time of year. I never thought I would enjoy an author with a name like Oliver Onions - but I do! Highly highly recommended.
