The Chalk Man by C.J. Tudor

This was a good book and I would recommend it. However I’m not sure it lived up to the hype and I wasn’t completely gripped.

I feel like towards the end of the book it lost me a little, not sure why. Maybe I’ll need to re-read.

Jodi Picoult is able to write very convincingly from multiple points of view throughout this book and I enjoyed the writing style and found it easy to read.

In my opinion the story line was very gripping and it is incredibly touching throughout. I was left in tears on the final pages.

I would recommend this book!

This was a good book with a twist I didn’t see coming! The entire premise is very creepy and I found the story overall to be gripping!

It was however a slow starter and there were areas of the story I felt could be dealt with differently or left out entirely.

I would recommend this book if you like the genre.

This is a gripping story line with many twists and turns. It’s a little bit of a slow burner but it is very creepy and worth it once you get hooked.

It does tackle some hard hitting issues but I feel Laura does it very well.

I enjoyed the book and I would recommend it!

Matilda is my favourite book! One of the first novels my mum read to me and I have read it at least once a year since.

The idea behind this book was really good and I loved the concept, really made me question. There were a few twists and turns which I didn’t anticipate which I enjoyed.

I loved Michelle’s writing style.

I do have a couple of struggles with it, there were considerable plot holes throughout and it felt like it had been dragged out too long towards the end.

However on the whole this was a good suspense novel and I enjoyed it. Didn’t take me too long to read and I would recommend it!
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

I read this book after seeing the film and it did somewhat ruin the suspense of it (obviously) however it was a fanatic book and it was written in such a way that I found it difficult to put it down.

I like the first person narrative and the odd chapter from someone else’s perspective.

I ended up liking most of the characters and although already knowing the ending, it was still very emotional.

I would recommend this book!

I found the first person narrative with no dialogue incredibly hard to read and VERY boring!

The book is repetitive and I really didn’t get the fantasy aspect of it. The snarky comments became irritating and I didn’t like the character at all!

This is another classic that I just don’t feel I truly understand and honestly I’m just glad it’s over.

I only read to the end because I can’t leave a book unfinished. I would not recommend this.

I struggled to remember that this is from the horse’s point of view and often got caught out! Other than that, it’s a good story!
