Do not read if a beginner to horror. This book genuinely terrified me. I felt sick and couldn't put it down. I read it in a day. I refuse to tell friends the title of this book so they don't go through what I did.

Brutal revenge and beautiful poetry come together in this story. Clytemnestra's story deserves to be written this way.

Pretty crazy idea that I found to be executed quite well. You might have to be gay and raised in an excruciatingly domineering and traumatizing religious household to see it that way. The story captured the contradictory and hellish landscape of "paradise" and a "loving god" that I find difficult to put my finger on a lot of the times.

Beautiful and sapphic-comforting. I could see myself re-reading this in a year or so. It was a fun journey with gay vampires.

The narrator's voice and tone was not for me as a reader. The winking, sarcasm, irony, "hey, reader, look at this, these two words are similar. Maybe there's something to that. wink, wink, nudge, nudge," pulled me away from any spooky threads I could catch. I felt spoon fed and not trusted as a reader.
The marketing might be at fault here; I wouldn't classify this as a horror novel, let alone adult.
I'd like to make of point of saying this book wasn't bad or not written well, it just was very much not to my taste and style. Those who enjoy and had fun with this read, cheers.
