Nearly saccharine sweet but it was the perfect book for me at the perfect time.

The artwork is great and adds so much to yrs story beyond just the words. I’m glad this book exists for all youth.

It was fine. I read it just to have a point of reference for Daughter of Dr Moreau by Silvia Moreno-Garcia. I can’t wait to see how well she runs with it!

We continue to adore this series. The Little is always so forlorn at night when we can’t “just read one more chapter”! There is some interpersonal drama and big feelings in this one that is handled really well and of course the mystery is twisty and hard to predict the ending.

I flew through this audiobook. I absolutely love when poets write essays and prose. The lyricism can’t be beat, to say nothing of the creative take on social commentary through music lyrics and performance. I highly recommend reading with the Spotify playlist that someone put together of all the songs referenced throughout the collection.
Where Peace Is Lost by Valerie Valdes

Not as ridiculous and funny as the Chilling Effect trilogy but no less entertaining and heartfelt. Valdes was world-building through the final chapter. She never stopped showing you. Lots of plot twists that kept pace moving and a healthy dose of social commentary on colonialism/imperialism and war.

Every time I finished Butler book for the first time I mourn how few remain. I’ve read Earthseed and Patternist series and this one was also so different. I can’t believe her range! It was fascinating and heart-breaking. Normally I hate all time-travel attempts but this one worked for me. It was simple and took a back seat to the actual story. Almost more magical realism than fantasy.
