YES - enemies to lovers, forced proximity, grumpy sunshine, his and hers perspectives, and  the perfect amount of spice without over powering the story. Loved loved loved this, listened to some chapters on repeat it was so good!

Loved Elizabeth, a strong willed, adventurous brave woman and Fletcher, the former street child grown up to be a hero, are a perfect and unlikely match! Interwoven with three different stories, Elizabeth's penny dreadful story of the lady and the highwayman, and Fletcher's story of the street children and the vampire. Took a minute to get sucked into the story, but then I flew through the rest! No spice, but lots of chemistry.

Eh. I think this is sitcom version of a romance, where everything just conveniently fits into place with minimal actual development. It wasn't terrible, but it really wasn't great, and I prefer a story written movie style, with lots more depth.

In a dystopian world that we are living in right now, I think this book brings a lot of realistic hope to the situation. I highly recommend.

I wanted to love this and the character, but I found the subject to be unfocused, and hard to follow the point of this story. The book opens with Annis doing combat moves with her mother that had been passed down for generations, but then she never uses these skills against her slaveholders. The theme of lost family, and generational suffering at the hands of slavery is interesting and the most poignant, but the spirits that are intertwined with the story, namely Aza, distract me from what I think is the more important and powerful story. There are definitely things worth dissecting in this book, but I really didn't love it.

LOVE this!! His and hers POV, the audiobook is excellent with two different narrators for each part. This book makes me want to get a divorce, move to Arizona, and meet cute a handsome, rugged, quiet man who pays as much attention to my body as he does to his woodworking. Spicy in all the right ways with a slowish burn and detailed but not overwhelming the story.

I just don't love thrillers I guess, but this one did keep me up at night a little bit.

Classic city girl meets country boy romance, zero spice, very adorable!
