The end was very touching and surprising. Gamache can be a bit too perfect in these books. It aggravates me a little. Seasonality was weak for this book and there was a LOT of police admiration. Too much for my taste.

I love the imagery and language. Enjoyed much more than Winter. Didn’t quite understand the Pauline Boty elements.

Loved Manderley and the descriptions of the house staff tending to the needs of the owners. Lulled around 70% for me. Is it weird that I found Maxim more likeable after the twist?

Probably one of my favorite of the series so far. Ruth was so much more tolerable. Clara still is such a weird caricature with so much solid food coming out of her hair???? Not enough season description in this one!! The over abundance of apples I thought was going to be part of the story. I guess just a funny portrait of fall.

The podcast “Wilder”, where I heard about this book, basically already shared the major events. Too much about Rose and I still have 70% left.

Karen is compelling and I found this book to immediately applicable and not dry at all. Best business book I’ve ever read. I think I’m a fan girl now.

Business books are so boring. Also, was coerced into reading this one for a work book club.

Too brutal. Also attempted this in the physical format and I’m still in a real e-book kick.

I wish Nelson was more likeable. And what’s the author’s hangup with weight? Super fast-paced, well written, and Ruth is a sympathetic protagonist. I wish I could have a cup of tea in an English cottage on the salt marsh!

I think he mentioned women only 3 times in this book. Some good content but Jesus we get it, Twitter is bad.
