Overall this volume was a lot simpler than the rest but still sweet. Also did not expect to relate to the whole "my mom can't stop seeing me as a fragile patient" arc but it hit in a different way

Exactly what I needed for my first read in months. Great recovery reading, if you ever have surgery and need something to curl up in a hospital bed with.

I really wanted to like this but it felt like no thought went into this one, like the authors had a vibe of what they wanted and there was no more planning beyond that. The writing was also very disappointing, especially considering I usually pick up an Anna-Marie McLemore book for the beautiful prose. What really tipped me over into disliking this book was that the whole book revolves around these characters wanting to end the war, but by the end of the book I had no clue why they were even fighting in the first place since the royal families seem to be best friends.

boring and not as homoerotic as advertised. also the female audiobook narrator has never heard a dutch person speak in her life, because every time she did van helsing's voice, i thought a random eastern european man had joined the group. (the male audiobook narrator is also doing an accent that resembles a frisian accent rather than the high dutch accent van helsing would have as someone from amsterdam, but i'm willing to forgive him because at least he has the right country)
