Such a sweet and lightharted read. Really getting into the summer vibes with this one, but I have to say that I can’t stand Conrad.
He’s so «gloomy» and «mysterious» all the time, giving litterally nothing, but he’s the main love interest? I also hated how he wouldn’t make a move unless he felt jealous or cornered. Huge red flag for me.

This is one of the few books I have read that has challanged my way of thinking, and left me questioning my own values. At the beginning of the book I couldn’t  understand why anyone would wish to travel to the past, without being able to affect the present nor the future.

As I first began reading this book I could only imagine returning to the past/future to change, or prevent sudden events. I could see myself traveling to the past to prevent that sudden someone from leaving, or take back that one thing I once said.

However after reading this book I see the beauty in observing and learning. I would love to travel to the past, to better understand myself and the circumstances of the visit. I think people often can be very closed minded thinking about the past. I would love to stop that certain someone from leaving, and stay behind. When I had the time I refused to talk or listen. I didn’t  challenge the situation, and I took my time for granted. For time is limited and relative. I think this book taught me that if I had the opportunity to travel to the past, there would be a lot of people I would want to visit or things I would like to change. Therefore it is important to look inward, to take a good look at my own present. What is happening around me right now? Why did I stop talking to that one friend I still have a lot of love for, and why didn’t I take those chances. Instead of debating on whether or not to, and waisting in the process. We have to remember that we alone are responsible for our future, and whatever regrets we have from the past, were once regrets in that present. Our present now will be our past in a couple years, months, weeks, days… even tomorrow.

This book was outstanding, what more could you expect from a Taylor Jenkins Reid book?? I swallowed this book whole and finished it quickly, as I’m seeing is becoming a pattern with all of her books.

When I first read the name Mick Riva I though to myself, where have I heard this name. And sure enough he was one of the seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo. Having read “The seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo” I understood from the get go that this romance and marriage  wasn’t going to be a happy, or long lasting one. However it brought attention to the parallels between Evelyn Hugo and Mick Riva. Where Evelyn were questioned on a daily basis why she had so many husbands and who the true love of her life was, it never seemed to be the the talk of the town when Mick slept around and got married time and time again. Showing of the sexist undertones of that time. It really hurt my heart knowing that Evelyn Hugo was one of the many women Mick was with as he left his children and ex-wife.
