it would have been a 5 if it had not been for the incessant amounts smut..... like i understand they are in love (while simultaneously loathing each-other) but ya'll... it was a lot. i would say that 75% of this novel is smut or Nesta/Cassian recollecting their rendezvous.
But with that said i adored the friendship between the three girls, the found family trope is one of my favorites, and the development of Nesta's character through the explorations of depression and trauma were well done in my opinion. (although i will say that i did wish for more of Nesta's journey out of her dark place to be done by her without a man to help, but we are reading fantasy and that rarely happens LOL)
I am rooting for Gwyn, she is my new favorite character of this series and i would sell my soul to read more about her- and see her journey(s).

I adored certain scenes but others i was confused by. overall a fun and well researched read. One that will be a good edition to inspire my own novel.

I read this in just about four days time (ugh school work HAHA) but it was so good! it got seemingly a little dull in the middle but most definitely redeemed itself in the end!
