it was a little too close to home/cringe & was also too straight i had lowkey assumed one of her friends would be gay and was disappointed.

a novel of deep discussions within a family built around false perceptions that crack following the death of their middle child/eldest daughter who was both of the parents favorite. i thought it was well done, historical fiction without the writing feeling out of it.

thought it had predictable elements. I think that
the Planned Parenthood discussion was important however making it a purposeful stop on the girls biking trip felt out of place.
Good discussions of post-COVID, diet culture, and more that felt very relevant. I was maybe a little young to really relate to Abby's story, but Morgan's storyline was very impactful.

I love Maggie Thrash and her writing and this book was quite good. I found it hard to get through at times and thought the third part was a little weird. But overall was very compelling.
