Not my favorite thing ever but it's very refreshing to find a book where a controlling/manipulative character has an inner monologue in which they actually think they are in the right with realistically reasonable points in their own mind rather than being a calculating puppet master or a cartoonishly evil idiot.

their weight is affected by the supernatural happenings.
