I still love the Matisse family and I'm happy to get them back. Now for the story...this is a fast-paced, forbidden love story. Although some parts are the typical things you'd expect from a forbidden love story this story also had twist, turns, ups, downs and all arounds 😂 I loved Foxx. Can't say enough good things about him. He's bae! I liked Amyris as well even tho at times she got on my nerves and I had to remind myself this is a book and these characters aren't real. Because whew Ivo got on my nerves! That man was insane. But I laughed, sat up straight in my bed with concern and fear, was happy, angry and ashamed of some characters. Overall this is a good story with good characters and great character development. Hopefully we get another book centering around Free or Finn.

This is a new to me author as I learned about her in a fb urban fiction book group. I liked the story. It was a little slow to me and not that interesting. But then it caught me and it kept me. The characters are all different yet similar enough to keep them connected. The story had lots of twist and turns I didn't expect. The story was in my opinion very well developed. Them Lexingtons were something else 😂. Sage, Sami and Boom were a different breed of guttersnipe. I really liked Yanniq. He was so pure. And ppl always try to take quiet and kind hearted as weak. And Niq was not that.My only problem was with the editing I guess. It was poorly edited. There were typos and grammatical errors galore! And I get that most of the urban, self published books tend to be overrun with errors but there were points in this book that I'd have to stop and reread because idk who or what they were talking about. Many times throughout this book names were changed in error I assume or words were misspelled or completely left out of the sentence. And that made it a less cohesive read. I like for my reads to just flow. I don't want to feel like I'm in my fourth grade class asking them to fill in the blanks or asking what word should've gone here instead? I wanted to give it three stars for the amount of errors and terrible editing but I gave it four because the story actually is very good. But I've seen authors say that somehow the books get messed up once  they upload them on kindle and that could very well be true as I've gotten paperbacks that didn't have a lot of errors but those paperbacks are done by authors who have no problems spending the money to get a quality editor or editing service because they know it'll all pay off in the end. I'm even willing to offer my services and I'm no professional.

This story reeled me in from the first page. This story was so good. I got to feel every emotion possible. I loved Yazmin and Hero's connection. This is a beautifully written love story.

Nice storyline. Main character was likeable. Other main grew on me. Characters were different and developed well. I gave this book 4 stars because of the grammatical errors. Just about every other word was misspelled, misplaced or downright missing. I basically filled in what I thought she might've meant. Maybe my book was just a bad print (because I hear that can happen sometimes with kindle books). But I had thought about returning the book bc of the errors. I don't know how much it cost for an editor but a lot of these self published or small, boutique publishing companies should really invest in a good editor. I promise it won't hurt and you'll get your money back tenfold.

Toxic! But I love toxic. First time reading this author and it won't be my last. Story was surprisingly good. I was so entertained. The characters were very likeable and the story had all sorts of twist and turns. Didn't see a lot of the stuff that happened coming.

Whew! Now this is what I'm talking about! This story is good I tell you. It has twist and turns. Characters you'll love and some you'll h8. I liked Essence. I felt so bad for her and wanted her to win so badly. However I did feel like she was a smidge too naive for my liking. Because some of the things she allowed baby I could never! Did not like Maurice, Xander or Rose at all. Somewhat tolerated Terrance. Loved Giovanni. He is my new book bae! Liked Helen, Ebony and the kids. Great storyline. Interesting cast of characters. This is a NTM author and I'm fiend'n for more. I need a part 2 ASAP!

Really good story. Sucks you in from the very first paragraph. To be honest the book was crazy. But in a good way. The storyline was storylining! Loved the character development and the characters. All except for one character and if you read the book you'll know who. But that character worked my last good nerve lol. But this is a nice, sweet, somewhat unconventional love story.
