I enjoyed this but it was missing something that I can’t quite put my finger on. The first book had an amazing balance of irreverence, humor, and romance but this one fell flat for me. The plot and characters weren’t as fleshed out as they could have been, and there was a lot of potential here.
I liked the backstory and how Lachlan worked to earn Lark’s forgiveness. Their banter and chemistry was entertaining. I’ll keep reading the series but this one didn’t quite live up to expectations.
