I had a fun time reading it, though the writing style was not my cup of tea (chaotic in a certain way).
Loved the friendship and characters, great romance/fantasy.
Didn’t feel much like a real slow burn nor enemies to lovers in my opinion. Still, the romance and the banters are great

I honestly do not know how to feel about this book.
Clearly the purple prose and the lack of context didn’t make it easy to understand the whole thing.
No, bit by bit, you discover this dystopian sapphic ennemies, taunting each others to making each other.
It is indeed a beautiful story about communication, sharing, time, lovers, feelings and emotions.
Those lyrical letters, were beautifully written especially Red ones.
3/5 for me

I definitely had fun while reading it ! Nothing original, but it was addictive and I’m just a sucker for cellos and passionate artsy characters .
So, addictive and immersive at that

So, pirates and lesbians hmm.
This book definitely has those vibes of Pirates Of The Carribbean.
The writing was fast paced and pretty actually.
This book could have been great, I mean how intriguing: LESBIANS PIRATES.
But from the beginning I felt annoyed by the FMC, of how naive she was. In love with her teacher, they plan to escape together on an island where they could live their romance.
In my opinion, the plot fell short a few times.
The sapphic romance was nice, but, again I am not convinced.
The “spicy scenes (there’s a lot of those) are written pretty nicely though.

I would probably rate it as a 2.75/5, could have been a great story but it’s lacking…

Finally finished this chunk. What can I say, guys read the trigger warning.
I went blindly, and gosh, this is not for the fainted heart.
The first part of the book contains so many dark, twisted, abusive events. Definitely was a rollercoaster of emotions, it is a dark dark romantasy, gothic, it was pretty graphic. I mean eating woods guys ?
I loved the writing, I was instantly immersed in that spooky gory atmosphere.
We have a real world building, with creatures, magic system.
The only thing was that I didn’t get attached to the characters. I did not vibe with Maevyth, nor with any of the females characters. As for our MMC Zevander, well, yes he’s morally grey.
Both MC clearly needs therapy at this point.
We have some queer representation as well.
Mostly, characters were OK, but no sparkles for me.
Fun read, I’ll definitely read the whole duology.
