Here's your text corrected and improved for clarity:
I feel bad because everyone gave it 4/5 stars, but I think this book is a 3. The story was just okay. This complicated situation with old Hollywood—it looks exactly the same as now—but I don't know how to feel about Maria and how mean all the characters are to her. It's my first Didion book, and yes, she's an amazing writer. Incredible prose and she uses simple language.
I got lost at some point in the book. It seemed pretentious, very American.
