Harriet Osman is impossible to turn down. Understatement of the entire book. Harriet is confident and self-assured, she knows what she wants & she takes it. Typically at the detriment of those around her.

Harriet crosses so many lines in her life, and someone has finally snapped back - someone killed her, but who? We spend the book going through Harrietā€™s suspect list - her husband, Malek, her best friend and lover, Victoria & Karen, the new school mum friend.

We get a point of view from everyone involved with her in an intimate sought of manner, and the author does an amazing job to make us hate Harriet and spend the entirety of the book suspecting each main player in her life.

Every Last Suspect is set in Sydney, with brief flashes to Brisbane & Melbourne. I loved the LGBTQ representation, the nod to more non-traditional marriages & the twist and turns throughout the story, leaving you guessing and unsure (though, I was so sure I had guessed it at 6% - as usual, I was wrong).

The ending? Loved it. My heart was in my throat reading the last few chapters. And the last few pages? PERFECT. The last two sentences? EXQUISITE.

I urge everyone to read this story.

Super quick Mafia read. Check your trigger warnings before you read this. Storyline was good, I think my issue is that the book was too short. There was many times where I felt the chapter needing expanding on. But, for a super quick read it was fine.

Insta-love from him, forced marriage, forced proximity, kidnapping. Fast-paced, HEA. The plot was not unique but it wasnā€™t written badly in that I wanted to DNF. The book is not bad, more so it is not my cup of tea.

It wouldnā€™t be a book I would read again, but Iā€™m grateful for the opportunity to read and review.

cute, quick, deep poetry.

I am not a poetry reader generally, and I know nothing of what poetry shouldnlook like, prose etc, so I am not able to review or read these with a critical poetry eye, but I do know it should evoke some level of emotion - so, I let my emotions and feelings while reading this book of poems to lead the way. They definitely hit me right in the feels & I related to her story on so many levels. This book of poems has opened my mind to possible loving poetry.

Iā€™ve sat on this review for a few weeks now, and Iā€™m still not sure entirely how to rate it.

Of Darkness and Ruination was a good book, it wasnā€™t great, but I enjoyed it mostly. The aspect of humans being slaves to fae is unique as far as I am aware, and I enjoyed that. I found that there were some parallels to the SJM ACOTAR series (names, etc), but it didnā€™t take away from the story itself. I felt at times the story was slow moving and repetitive. It seemed to give more questions than answers. I found the FMC naive, a wanna-be badass. I think she has what it takes to be a great character, sheā€™s just not one to me yet. The broody, dark, MMC, who plays the villain in everyoneā€™s story but is actually the good guy was predictable, but I like that trope so Iā€™m here for it. The plot twists at the end with who her true family is, I both saw and didnā€™t see coming. I knew that she would be something else, but I thought it would like a god gift or something, I am concerned what her bio-dadā€™s gonna do though!

Overall, the book was okay, I probably wonā€™t reread it & Iā€™m not sure Iā€™ll read books 2 on. I am grateful to the author for providing me an ARC copy to review.

ā€œAll signs point toward your murderā€.

I read this book in 1 sitting. I couldnā€™t put it down. Imagine having your fortune read as a teenager, only to have it control your life until it eventuates? That would drive anyone insane. And great-aunt Frances was dedicated to solving her own murder.

6% into this story I so incredibly confidently announced I had figured it out. Like I was some amazing mystery solving detective. I was wrong. Surprise surprise (although, I would like to say I was not not wrong either).

We follow Annie, who, after being told she was named as a beneficiary in her Great-Aunts will, arrived to a cozy little town only to find out her great aunt was already dead. She is then thrust into a murder-mystery competition, first to solve inherits it all. But the twist? If the police solve it first, the inheritance is sold to property developers and the crown.

Thereā€™s (a lot) character plots, plot twists galore, and a lot of oooh I think I got it moments. I was very close to pulling out a notepad and trying to work it out as I went. I did not put it all together and guess the murderer, not until the big reveal and if it was not late at night I would have been squealing.

This story hints at being a series, thereā€™s a romance subplot beginning to develop (I plead to the author not to make this a love-triangle, send the grumpy one off to the BFF please), thereā€™s the suggestion her dad will come crawling back in for her inheritance, but with this book solving both murders, Iā€™m not sure where book 2 would go. It would seem Castle Knoll has more secrets than we know.

Overall, I love a cozy murder mystery. I enjoyed this book and think you will too. Itā€™s quick and easy to read, and while thereā€™s a lot going on it doesnā€™t take much to understand it. Thank you to Hachette ANZ for sending me this copy to review.
