Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer

This book was likely the biggest waste of time in my life right after my emotionally abusive toxic ex boyfriend of 6 years. Over a thousand pages of buildup only for every character that has ever been introduced in the series to decide to go home so that Bella, the most boring and helpless protagonist maybe ever written (and an anti-feminist anti-hero), can have her boring happy ending which entails her sort-of-ex-boyfriend being in love with her hybrid daughter… I could go on forever about the problems with this book. I wish Stephenie Meyer kept her creepy misogyny to herself and went to therapy instead. I think it would’ve been a great psychological allusion if it weren’t for the fact that Ms. Meyer genuinely thinks that Edward and Jacob are so appealing and she sees herself as Bella. Yikes. My only sin in life has been skipping church to finish this book. It haunts me nearly 15 years later.
