Listen, EmHen writes banger after banger at this point and I’m convinced I’ll love everything she writes. But this one felt special, like Beach Read special, ya know? Nothing will top Beach Read, but the way she weaves this story combined with the flashes between past and present, we’re just so incredible to read. This book is deeply emotional, I absolutely adored it!

Leave it to Kennedy Ryan to write a romance that is emotional, raw, real, politically relevant, and deeply romantic, all at once. Hendrix & Maverick have electric chemistry that had me RACING to devour their banter. The more serious topics in this were also, as usual, written beautifully and with such great care. I just loved this book.
In addition, it broke my Oathbound induced reading slump, so YAY.

The way this book had my heart RACING from start to finish. It’s a horror book so def remember that going in, it’s not a romance even though there are romantic elements. But wow that ending fucked me up.
