I liked this more than I expected. I tried reading this a few years ago and couldn’t make it past the first 3 chapters but I’m glad I gave it another try. I really liked how the issues the couple were confronted with were not only really understandable (in context to reality) but also well grounded and explained within the narrative. The story cantered Gavin  more, and that’s probably because he’d effectively left all the emotional labour of his marriage, family and home life to Thea. But I would have also liked to see more of Thea, especially when it was kinda incorporated later toward the end. Still, I liked how her sister was part of the story and was there to back Thea up, and the messiness of family on relationships. I really appreciated how the kids in the story were allowed to just be kids, rather than be aids in plot momentum/aids in their parents resolving their relationship troubles.
