Good book, kept interested the whole time, but not as fact-packed as many of Brysons other books

A bit long and drawn out but the message was very well portrayed.

I anticipated a novel and the emotions about race were strong for my taste - however i found them insightful and a bit different from the rest of mass media. While reading it I felt myself wanting to bring up these points in conversation. That being said the message didn't carry the story and so the book just felt a bit too long. At the end with all that had happened I didn't know if I wanted them to be together or not so I was never able to root for a happy ending. Instead with all the struggles and discontent from both sides, the story was kind of a dud.

Really funny and entertaining for the first 200 pages. near the end he loses the theme of the stories and the essays seem long and disconnected.
