Such a gorgeous novel about the relationship Carlisle has with both her father and dance and how those often intersect with one another. Highly recommend for anyone who wants a challenging but readable novel which centres around complex family dynamics and/or performance.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 26%.
It’s really poorly written - it reads like a secondary school essay. It’s also very much for young queer people, not adults who are secure in their identity

I think this book has some really great information and will prompt some really important revelations in many readers but I feel like I’m not the sort of twenty-something this book was targeted at.
If you feel lost about your 20s then absolutely read this. But if you’re a twenty-something who feels like you have, or are on the path of having, everything working out then you might not get as much from this book.

“My Dad Wrote a Porno” meets Agatha Christie meet Strictly.

Is this well written? No.
Does it subvert expectations? No
Would I consider this book to be good? Also no.

Is it the funniest thing I’ve read in a long time? Absolutely.

Highly recommend reading this with friends because some of the plot lines and writing is absolutely unhinged.

Bog standard thriller. Don’t think it deserves all the hype.
of course the husband was the villain, it’s always the husband

A beautiful depiction of queer girlhood.
