good bones but needs more
Slightly rushed story had promising elements but left much to desired. I’m sure the next book will help answer some of those questions.

This book was so full of action and elements that I love. I found myself falling for the characters in a way I haven’t since I was a preteen growing up with Harry Potter. The layers of betrayal and complex morally gray characters. The world building was done in a way that wasn’t drawn out or boring. The plot twists while I saw them coming somewhat still were written in a way that made my heart pump. I quickly bought the rest of the series and am devouring them. The love story was not cheesy or forced in fact the enemies to lovers aspect was done in a way that felt real. Such beautiful story telling that kept me turning the page and a little sad when the story was over.

fun quick read
I enjoyed the read and it does have the possessive vibes I like. Some of the dialogue and inner thoughts are a little over the top for a couple that barely knows each other but it’s fiction and it’s fun. Definitely will read the sequel.

A beautiful gothic academia romance. Academia is not my favorite genre but I found myself drawn to the characters. Mystery, subtle paranormal, romance, forbidden love, and a battle with mental illness. While I still have some unanswered questions and felt some of the pacing was a little rushed over all I adored this book. It is by far my favorite read so far of 2024. My first read from this author and will read more of her work.

Twist at the end was more of one than I anticipated. I didn’t fully expect what was revealed but did enjoy.
