This isn’t a bad book by any means. But it is not what I had been expecting. I expected a dark bully step-siblings story and that’s not really what was delivered. Xavier, the MMC, is really mean to Kaye, FMC, for a few chapters at the start of the book and then it just kind of dies. Xavier has some great dirty talk at the start of the book but when Xavier and Kaye finally do the deed… it was kind of just lackluster. There’s also a really weird time jump that I didn’t think was necessary.
What I did like about the book was the other relationships. Kaye and Christine have such a cute friendship. I enjoyed their scenes together. I’m intrigued about Christine’s story and will give her and Niccolo’s story a try.
