This does exactly what volume one did – captures the characters perfectly, takes advantage of the graphic novel medium, has fun and exciting action scenes, and even wraps up some loose ends from the show. It isn’t quite as fun as the first volume but is still worth your time if you’re already a fan.

My very cruel sister told me to read this. For context, my last dog who passed away several years ago was named Oscar. To quote the book, "You know who was my pal? Oscar. My old pal, Oscar. My one and only dog." So now here I am, sobbing about a picture book.

Remains very engaging and interesting. I wish the worldbuilding was a bit higher on the priority list but that does give me sort of a drive to continue the series on my own...the class elements of this one are decently handled, mostly by the conclusion of this arc, and the larger ongoing Adversary arc feels like it's potentially building towards a large reveal.

The primary reason I enjoy the horror genre is the creativity that authors are able to unleash. I love the monster designs, the unexplained magic/paranormal stuff. Locke & Key's second volume expands the creativity shown in the first installment in a captiviating and engaging way and I cannot wait to read more.
