Fun but didn’t always love the spice. If I could never read the word “slick” again in that context, I’d appreciate it.

The spice was nice. Elliot was a little too prickly & rude for me to really root for him.

I didn’t like the beginning. I really wasn’t a fan of Helen. But that changed.
I enjoyed this a lot more than I expected to when I started reading it.
I love books set in Hollywood and it was so fun to read to read about a writer’s room.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 8%.

I just wasn’t interested in it. I was listening to the audiobook (and I love LMM) but I was surprised that it seemed to pick up where the first one left off. I assumed after all the time there was between books that there would be a time jump but there wasn’t (at least not so far). I did enjoy the first one but I didn’t want more of the same. Granted, I’m probably not being fair - I only read 8% in. But it wasn’t for me.

Best way to describe this, is that I really liked it but I didn’t love it. I enjoy this author’s writing though and I liked it much better than her last book which just wasn’t for me.
I love her little elements of magical realism and I’ll probably continue to pick up her books.
I did enjoy this. But once I hit the 50% mark I just wanted to find out how it ended and I didn’t really care how we got we got there.

This book dragged towards the middle/end.
The climax was so silly - it was a little unbelievable that the one fight would break up the couple. Then a week later after they both evaluated things, they were together again. Annoying.
I liked the fat representation, of course. It’s a fun setting for these books because the Games of Thrones-esque TV show.
I like the cameos from previous characters in the series - those are always fun.
But I didn’t love this. I just wanted it to be over.

Hazelwood is definitely one of my favorite romance authors. I have loved all her previous books and this is no exception. I definitely love her new pivot into fantasy romance. She writes it well and it was a nice change.
The spice introduced me to werewolf lore that I was 100% not aware of before.
I hope she writes more in this world. I would read it in a heartbeat.
