All the Missing Girls by Megan Miranda

I read this book on NetGalley and really enjoyed this book! It is a twist on a standard mystery - it is told from day 15 to day 1. This book could have been a total shitshow, but Miranda pulled it off well. I can't imagine how difficult it would be to share information backwards in a mystery, and still make the story cohesive. She did a great job.

I was vey into the book by about the halfway point. I may have been bored with another style of book, but since it's a mystery, I was just dying for more information.

I spent most of the book guessing who the villain was - my guess was constantly changing, which is a cool part of a mystery. I also really liked that the final answer made sense, and was acceptable in regard to the entire story.

I didn't connect with the main character very much, but I'm not sure that I was supposed to. She's not very likable, but I think that's okay.

A lot of the book focuses on looking at broken girls. I connected with this aspect of the book, and it reminded me of the parts I liked of Emma Cline's The Girls. The narrator's reflections reminded me of myself (mainly when I was younger) and friends I had (when I was younger).

I would like to give a bit of a trigger warning with abusive men. The main character just kind of sees it as a part of life, and I wish that she would have expected better for herself and those around her.

I'm happy with how everything wrapped up in the end and I hope y'all enjoy the book!

I was surprised by how much I liked this. It was a cute story and the characters weren't flat.

This book was going to be 3 stars until I got to the last 50 pages or so. I just can't deal with the subject matter. It made me feel sick. I really enjoyed BEE's The Rules of Attraction, and figured this would be like that. No. It starts out similarly, but it's darker and nastier and missing the comic relief found in The Rules of Attraction. This book was so fucked up. Parts of it reminded me of Gossip Girl - it's a really depressing and disturbing Gossip Girl (that actually sounds appealing to me, but trust me, it's not).

BEE is a great writer and that's why this book didn't receive 1 star. I just couldn't handle the content.

This book wasn't awful...I just don't understand why it followed such a similar plot outline as the first book in the series. The actual plots didn't have much to do with each other; it was just the vague concept. I am giving the third one a chance, but I really hope the author has a bit more creativity in the next one. I believed the story of the first one; I didn't believe the story of this one as much.

This is like the One Tree Hill of crime fiction, and I kind of want to punch this book a little bit. These things don't happen to the same person over and over. GET NEW MATERIAL AND BE CREATIVE.

Also, I am so bored by the Tracy / Dan parts, and I am hoping for less in the next one haha. It's just so cheesy and unrealistic, and they feel so flat.

Fun & creative thriller. I enjoyed the twistiness of the book and really wanted to find out how it was going to end. I would definitely read another book (hopefully a thriller) by Raabe. It's a book that builds, so don't expect anything crazy and fast-paced.

This could have been so much better. It had promise, and the outline of the story was interesting. The first half of it was so boring, then it was good for a little bit, and then the ending kind of sucked. It wasn't necessarily a bad book, it just really wasn't for me.

SO TWISTY. I finished this book in a day because I was dying to find out what was happening. It was a little bit of a slow start, but it built like crazy and was action-packed by the end. I was jumping from character to character with guesses for who was behind it. This is another solid read from Mackintosh - when can I get the next one???
