This might be my favorite book of the series, since I just absolutely love the character development Pip goes through. Especially the second half of the book is where I have to read it all in one sitting, even though I know the story very well. Holly Jackson is just so talented in writing those scenes where you're truly worrying what will happen next. Having re-read the series multiple times, it still stands strong and I will continue to recommend it!

As often, the second book in a trilogy is my least favorite. Howevery, this by no means makes this a bad book. I love the "descend into madness" that we see here and how Pip's character and relationships evolve. The main mystery of the book is just not as interesting to me as the one in the other two books of the series and I find the first 30% to be very slow and rather though to get through.

As someone who has re-read this series multiple times, I'm amazed every time by how well this book stands on its own. The story is just such a good one that keeps you hooked from page 1 and it's always hard for me to put this book down. The mystery is obviously the main part of the story but I especially enjoy how other parts of Pip's life are equally fleshed out and she seems like a real character with real relationships, which is something that isn't always the case in murder mystery books. The only reason that this isn't a solid 5 stars is because I know that I love the last book of the series even more, but if I had only read this first one, it would definitely be.

I had some high expectations and those were mostly met. The banter between the MC and the love interest is pretty cute and I liked how long it took for their relationship to develop. However, I didn't love how the plot was executed at most times, since I found it to be quite strechted at times. I will be continuing the series, but in no hurry.

I liked the set-up of the story, I liked (most of) the characters, I liked the mythology part and I liked the premise. But sadly it all went downhill from about the 70% mark. I completely lost the plot and I absolutely hated how the conflict was resolved.

read this for school but i still really enjoyed it. Edna's development was very interesting and the end of the book definetly made me emotional. I didn't read all the short stories, but i loved some of the ones that i read (especially Desirees baby)

so much nostalgia! Only (minor) issue for me was that the tone was very lighthearted in comparison to the olympian books that take place before this, which just felt a bit off to me

I really liked the premise of the book and there were parts I truly loved, however I thought it was about 100 pages too long, which is why it took me a long time to finish it
