This book is a stand-alone within the Starry Kingdoms of Fae series, told from a duel POV.

This book was amazing from start to finish. The banter between the rivals turned lovers stays till the very end. The two learn to work together as they take on the fanciful quests they've been given in order to earn their freedom from the witches curse.

I also found it quite enjoyable that you can tell the author did her research on Celtic mythology. The references to the Finnian legends were a nice touch.

To explain my rating of 3 stars.
I took it down to three simply because the one thing that bothered me was the way Taryn seemed to pine over Finn the whole time. It got a little repetitive at a certain point. It didn't ruin the overall plot or hurt its readability, just became a bit annoying imo. The writing style was also just a bit off for me. Despite that, it was truly a good story and the characters were loveable.

This book is definitely worth the read and I plan to check out more of Jesikah Sudin's books in the future.

Happy reading!

**I received this book as an ARC from the author. My review is voluntary and of my own opinions.

OK, so I picked up this book off the cover alone (I was hoping it was a queer story and was happy to be right). I will preface this by saying this is the first ever age gap romance I've ever read. It is definitely NOT the first Sapphic romance, however.

I found the idea exciting, and the main characters were easy to understand and connect with. I particularly loved Erin. She struggles with a lot of guilt and personal trauma throughout the story.

I was a little upset, though, that Parker didn't play a more important role in the story. Being that she is literally what makes the romance between Erin and Cassie so forbidden in the first place, it feels like she should have more development and impact throughout the book.

Despite that, the book was pretty great. I do feel like it could have been better if there had been a more bittersweet ending than what we actually got.

As for spice, there are many, many, many scenes in the book. Lol, they just weren't as hot as I was hoping for. (That might have more to say about me than the book

I would give it five stars, but it's missing that something to make it stand out from the crowd. That's not to say that it isn't a good read, though. The MFCs are both relatable, the side characters are great (though some seemed unnecessary), and the story has moments of both spice and wholesome romance. My personal favorite being the library scene.

This book definitely kept me guessing. I thought it was going to be just an average girl meets girl romance and it turned out to be so much more. There was just the right amount of angst, science, and magic to make this a story to remember.

If you’re a fan of Sapphic Contemporary romance this is definitely a must for your TBR!

The story of Lizzie and Cara is a roller coaster that had me laughing at times and crying at others. I can’t explain just how amazing this book truly is. Lizzie’s backstory is heartbreaking but relatable and it made me want to root for her the whole way through. She has endured enough and deserves a happy ending. That and a really good therapist.

If you ask me to rate this book I’d give it a solid 4.5/5⭐ . The plot is there, the characters are fun and relatable, and the writing is wonderful. On a spice scale though (For those of us who love a little spice in our romance) is only ½/ 5
