such a fun and emotional read :’) love how scientific facts were weaved into the story and made more interesting + how all the programming stuff were made a lot simpler and more understandable for younger readers !! im also a sucker for letters so of course i enjoyed reading sophie’s pov

this book does such an amazing job in anthropomorphizing mars rovers in a way that’s relatable, touching, scientific, yet also a bit realistic in some way. the contrast between thinking and feeling in both the rovers and the humans was laid out pretty well too. would highly recommend this to everyone no matter your age, everyone deserves a light read like this every now and then <3

the adults are extremely extremely stupid here damn (except for uncle monty ofc) and the redundant writing is kinda getting to me but the baudelaires were brilliant as always <3 wish we got much more scenes with uncle monty though

just as good as i had expected !!!! ive been dying to start this book series for so long because i finished the netflix show years ago but im so happy i finally got to pick this up <333 from what i remember, i think the show was pretty close to the book and that’s just so cool because i really loved the adaptation and the acting was superb (neil patrick harris did an amazing job as count olaf and the baudelaires are such talented actors)

still contemplating whether i should already rewatch the two episodes reserved for this first book or if i should finish the entire book series first but im so excited to rewatch the show :D also @ count olaf , it’s on sight ! i will get ur ass and drag u through mud and concrete mercilessly istg

the way this is only 147 pages long but it took me a whole month to finish ,,,, insane . im so glad i didnt buy a physical copy of this even though ive been so tempted (the cover is so pretty LOL)

literally Nothing happened in this book … like there was no plot or whatever it was just so damn slow ,, feel like this wouldve been better if they explored ???? more of what Happened but nope we r all just as clueless as the villagers (idk if this was the goal but it’s so bad)

i also had such a hard time visualizing the layout of the village and the house and everything because the way it was all described is so confusing sigh i shouldve taken that as a sign not to continue this but !

ik there’s a movie adaptation so im just gonna try watching that even though it’ll probs be somewhat as boring as this one . i def shouldve abandoned this but im just glad ive finally finished it so i can get onto more exciting books

a beautiful story of friendship that also highlights the relationship between black women and their hair and all the love, care, time, and effort that they put into it !! when i watched paper girls (show), they always showed that tiffany had a bedtime hair routine which sparked my curiosity on how they take care of their hair, so this was a really fun and informative short read :)

cant believe their story has come to an end and im never gonna see them again ever :/ was initially worried on how they were gonna show all 4 povs in this volume but the way they executed it was So cool even though the ending was </3 wish it ended differently but i still very much appreciate all the subtleties in the last few pages. thank god they’re finally home because these girls have gone through So much in just a few days LOL

i love this entire comic series soso much and im still hoping that the show adaptation gets picked up so i can see what happens next to the girls after that s1 ending :( in terms of the characters’ storylines and representation i very much prefer the show over the comics but still highly highly recommend them both <33

“we’re not just paper girls, we’re friends” in the comics to “we’re paper girls, so we stick together” in the show so true !!

[ loved mac’s character development sm btw thank god he’s not that much of an asshole anymore ]
