Im not sure how anyone could possibly romanticise this book. Elio is clearly mentally ill, he seems to have an obsessive personality and the fact that he wanted Oliver doesnt mean that oliver shouldve acted on it. The fact that oliver constantly hooks up with minors for the majority of the book is disgusting by itself. The writing may be good and the film might be aesthetically pleasing but this really isnt something you should see as romantic.
Elio was groomed whether its obvious or not. I hate this book and the author so much.

Interesting takes on Gregg Araki’s films. Very repetitive ideas towards his films and not much analysis. One chapter was mostly a summary of a film which was unnecessary considering most people reading this book have most likely seen Araki’s films. Personally I feel like this book was slightly pointless but I’m always intrigued by other people views on his films.
