The novel follows Chiante, a teenager from Zimbabwe, in her journey after discovering a family secret. Family is more than blood: all the elders in Chiante's life have been supporting her since she was born. And even now that her whole world has been turned upside down, they are there to comfort her, to talk with her, to give her a hug or teach her a lesson. While she tries figuring out her place in the world and in the family, she is never alone, her sisters are right next to her. Wonderfully written, When It's Your Turn For Midnight explores the trauma of war as well as the search for sisterhood. Good one!

The God of the Woods is a compelling mystery that is beautifully written. A missing person's investigation soon turns into a complex mystery about the past, the people that live in it and those who moved on. The multiple-povs made the story even more engaging, I found the structure of the book to be very unique. I liked the ending, but also I want to know what will happen next. First time reading Liz Moore, but definitely not the last. Worth reading!

Sophia and her partner are supposed to go on a cruise to spend a bit of time together and take beautiful pictures of the natural scenery. But something goes wrong, and as a result Sophia ends up going by herself. Natural Selection has a great premise, but it falls flat. I didn't get attached to the characters, I didn't really care about anyone while reading. The novel feels too short, the ending felt abrupt to me. Overall it was okay, but nothing special.
