During the first few chapters, I was ready to stop listening without finishing and giving it a 2-star rating, like the whiny student in the book.

I decided to share some of the philosophical theories of Alfred Adler with my partner who loves philosophy. We started listening to some of it together and he helped reframe some of the arguments I was struggling with. It started to make more sense and, by the end, I felt I had new and fascinating perspectives.

These ideas were laid out in an interview-dialogue style between a philosopher and his student, similar to Sophie’s World. (This book keeps coming up for me lately.)

This is my first sapphic werewolf urban fantasy novel. It is book one of seven in the Coastal Pack series by Harlowe Frost. A cute and eventually spicy story about an alpha lone wolf vs. a newly-turned submissive werewolf, both trying to find their place within their pack and their relationship.

Recommend if you’re looking for a fun, quick read with some sapphic spice!

This story has two timelines. The first timeline takes place in 18th century London, following the story of Nella who runs a secret apothecary shop that caters to women purchasing poisons to use against oppressive men in their lives.

The second timeline is in present-day London, where a woman named Caroline has just spent her 10th wedding anniversary alone after discovering her husband was cheating.

The stories run parallel to each other as readers slowly learn the truth of the apothecary murders, making for an interesting, mysterious—and sometimes tense—witchy story. I was on the edge of my seat a few times and it kept me guessing to the end.
