A stunning debut. I cannot wait to read more of the author's work in the future. This book broke my heart. And I wept for Kiara so much. Definitely do not read unless you are in the right head space for it.
I think this story feels more relatable to me, as someone who works in a healthcare hotline during the pandemic - just how bad the working conditions were, how no one cares about your mental health, how insidious work creeps into your life that you cannot notice it until it feels too late. So I enjoyed the writing of the book and how unreliable the narrator was.
