Blood Oboe by Douglas Piccinnini

I am a huge fan of Piccinnini's Story Book. Going into Blood Oboe, I had no idea what to expect except to expect a bag of surprises, and that's exactly what I received! The poems in Blood Oboe are the strangest I've ever read. They're formatted in a way I've never seen before, some are very short and a few somewhat longer. There are whole words missing in places where they should be and sometimes just letters are missing from words. Piccinnini leaves it to us readers to make sense of the chaos in this book. Even I couldn't do it on my first read through, but then again, what good is a book which does not hide secrets and demand closer inspection, not just into the text, but into oneself? My hat off to you, Mr. Piccinnini for another excellent work!
