This very much what I feel like Love Quinn would have done to Joe Goldberg if she had more time to plan the downfall of Joe. That is all I will say. It was such a thriller and the plot twist? I was STUNNED.

Sapphic love stories are the only romantic novels I don't mind reading about. It's always fun reading a book about people who initially don't like each other and fall in love at the end, especially when it's done through a fake relationship.

Like many others that have reviewed this memoir, I was moved and I was impacted. Chanel's writing and her narration of the night of January 17-18, 2015 and those that followed, were raw and unfiltered. SA and rape are such tough topics to talk about and to even think about, but they are necessary. Stories like Chanel's are prevalent and needed because her courageousness and her words may or may not help other survivors and victims speak out. I knew about the case, as I was only 18 when the story broke, and had so much hatred for the system and for the rapist. But I had stomach pains far worse caused by the comments many were leaving under articles trying to shift the blame onto Chanel, who was then identified as Emily Doe. Because why was her drinking that night an issue? Why is it ever an issue of what the victim was wearing or the fact that a victim was intoxicated? At the time when this broke, I was also drinking (yes underage, but it was my senior year) and all I could fathom was "If I drank at one of our parties and this occurred, would everyone around me blame my drinking and not the rapist?". Chanel makes a great point, as a victim she was made to question if she even knew herself and made to separate Chanel from Emily, even though both were her and she deserved the justice, she was and is worth the justice. I hate reading books that don't have a happy ending, the real world is harsh enough, but I came into this reading knowing I was going to have stomach pains from the anger that would ensue. But I have to give Chanel a big thank you for making this memoir about the hopes in life and the worth that every person can hold. I have tabbed many pages in this memoir for the future days that come and when I need courageous words.

Washington's style of writing had me confused at the beginning, only due to lack of quotes for who is talking or when there is narrative versus internal thoughts. But, I quickly caught on and actually preferred this style of story telling. We learn about Benson and Mike as individuals who are probably in love, but don't know much of their own relationship. This possibly was due to their hard upbringings based on their sexuality and their lack of parental love to some extent. I wasn't sure how I felt about Benson and Mike's relationship, as they at times described possible DV? However, I do love the POV from each one and how they emotionally grow. We see Mike receive some closure on his Father's lack of presence and Benson rebuilding a relationship he may have never had with his father. Through both characters, we see the mistrust there is on male figures, possibly, and the growth of their relationships. However, the ending being so vague and open to interpretation was where I felt there could have been some closure for both characters. Nonetheless, I am a fan of this book.

This has been on my TBR for quite a while as I am trying to expand my LGBTQIA+ reading, as a recently out queer person. Anyways, 'twas was a fun read!! I am not a big reader of romantic novels, but I enjoyed this enemies to lover story with some twists in between. I loved all the bumps in the road and the anticipation as to how this would end. I might just give more of a read to these!

A fun quick read! In all honesty, the kink and description of the seggsy scenes were *chef kiss*. I loved the beginning twist of this story and the chemistry that obviously existed. It's a fun change from the enemies to lovers trope I have been reading lately!

Idk what I expected coming into this read, but I definitely expected a bit more to be honest. I did however liked the bisexual representation and the fears attached to coming out and possibly being hated for it? I guess that's the best way I can describe it. I liked the many side characters that were diverse in both sexuality and race. I feel like there could have been more to this storyline to really outline the struggles of a newly out individual creating a relationship with someone who is already comfortable in their skin. It sort of felt rushed.
