Ok Mr. King, you've weirded me out with just a short story. Not weirded me out in a bad way, but who even comes up with something as cynical as this? I am in awe of that creative brain. So, this egotistical surgeon uses his skill sets to survive on this small abandoned island while sniffing his money making drugs away. What's there to say of a man who ate his own legs? Not much, but he's still got his hands, so I guess he can still be a surgeon if he ever gets found.

Going to give this a solid 3.5 stars, mostly because I was mostly frustrated by everyone's emotions and actions throughout the story. I had fun reading this, anything sapphic I will read and love. I did love this, because I enjoy anything with a trope, but it could have been framed better and all. Overall, pretty decent.

I know the book maybe could have had more to it, but I'm giving it this rating because I couldn't go to sleep until I actually finished it. Now, the romance in this was actually great, I was out here rooting for maybe Hannah and Veronica to get back together, because I wasn't sure how deep their hurt was, but then I went on to read This Spell Can’t Last and I understood and was actually proud of Hannah putting her foot down. Overall, there was drama, there was suspense, plot twists and action. There was a balance of almost everything needed for good sci-fi action thriller with some sapphic romance and heartbreak. I'm actually going to start the second book now!

I am in awe of this series. It may not have been amazing or over the top great, but I love a book that is able to include grief, love and overcoming. Most of the romance-y books I have read rarely include such bearings, but this was told pretty well. I was content with the ending, but I will say, I wish there was more of Veronica, but I completely understood the growth that came for both Hannah and Morgan, I actually enjoyed having Gemma grow as a character as well. This book was just perfect for me!

AHHH, okay I loved this trope and this story line. It would have been 5 stars for me if they had just CROSSED THE LINE once in her chambers lol, that would have really elevated that level of spice for me, but thats honestly just a personal thing. This book was great and the story line was enjoyable I had butterflies for them both!!!! The ending was beautiful and I was fucking happy.

This cleared up questions I had when reading These Witches Don't Burn, because I actually was hoping Veronica and Hannah would end up together, HAHAHA. BUTTTT, after reading the prequel, I am glad to have this exist. It's amazing to see just how much Hannah has grown in her self worth and how that carried into the next novel. I'm hoping to find more if in the sequel to TWDB! And along with everyone else, Veronica makes me angry, but I'm such an empath that I hope she grows as well soon enough.
